Control And Radio Products

12-96035/12-96045 DTMF Decoder

2-wire/4-wire DTMF decoder with answerback. 1-, 2- or 3-digit DTMF code. Use for call-ins on consoles and intercoms

14-99005V2 Radio DTMF Activator

Radio activated control relay. 1-6 digit DTMF code, "Form C" contact output. Available in wall mounting and signal rack mounting versions. The "V2" format allows multiple operational modes to be built-in and they are user selectable.

14-99005V2-AC1 Radio DTMF Activator, AC Powered

Operationally similar to 14-99005V2, but powered by 117 VAC, enclosed in a NEMA-type box and provides 24 VDC output for powering auxillary equipment.

14-99009 Radio DTMF Controller

The Radio DTMF Controller provides up to 4 inputs, two relayoutputs and up to four customer-recordable messages to be broadcast via te built-in VHF radio.

17-95133 DC Loop Remote Radio Adapter
The 17-95133 is designed to either control one radio via DC loop current, or work with two radios in a repeater configuration. It features automatic level control for radio receive audio and dual current (F1/F2) operation.

61-95039 Remote Microphone
Provides second transmitting location for a mobile 2-way radio. Typically used at the rear of a work truck. This model is normally provided with 30' of cable and the end-user terminates it to the 2-way radio as appropriate. Larry McGee Company provides hook-up instructions, but the customer must ensure the unit hook up is compatible with the configuration of the radio in use. This model can also be special-ordered with extra-long cable.
Note: Due to (temporary?) unavailability of the DTMF-style microphone, the 6-95039A is not currently available.

87-12001 Link Radio, Half-Duplex

Provides radio communications at the end of a communication line. Includes transceiver, audio circuits and power circuits. Can be equipped with VHF or UHF transceiver.

87-12002 UHFLink Radio, Repeater

Equipped with two UHF transceivers, antenna duplexer and audio and power circuits. Transmit radio fitted with custom heat sink and fan assembly.

Maintenance Aids

The 72-91007 DTMF Encoder

Allows a service technician to carry a 4 x 4 DTMF Encoder in his or her tool case. Built into a heavy plastic case with a steel front panel, it is powered by an internal 9-Volt battery or an optional AC adapter.

77-97003 VHF/UHF Antenna Tester

The VHF/UHF Antenna Tester facilitates quick and simple testing of VHF and UHF antennas. It can be used with radio of 2 Watt through 60 Watt power. It is equipped with an internal 2.5 Watt UHF radio for testing FOT antennas on locomotives. Includes charger for internal 12 volt gel cell battery and a complete cable set.

85-99003 Maintainer's Amp II

The Maintainer's Amp II provides temporary 2-way voice communications over 2-wire and 4-wire communications circuits, sends & decodes DTMF tones, keys remote radios with standard keying tones, sends pre-programmed and user-programmed test tones over the communication line. Use it for service & maintenance or as an emergency communication device.

It is powered by 6 “C” cells or an optional AC adapter, is built into a rugged plastic enclosure and has a built-in storage area for test leads.

Locomotive Products

Larry McGee Company manufactures a number of products for use on locomotives. They are specified by major railroads and are installed in new locomotives by major builders. They are also available for installation in existing locomotives

Radio Control Panels
Several models of Radio Control Panels are available, each filling different operational requirements.

61-95014 Amplified Conductor's Panel and handset connector

Built-in amplifier uses "handset audio" from popular locomotive radios.

61-95015 Non-amplified Conductor's Panel with DTMF microphone

Uses high-level audio from popular locomotive radios.

61-95028 Conductor's Panel with DTMF touch pad and handset connector

61-95035 Non-amplified Conductor's Panel with handset connector

Similar to 61-95015, except substituting the handset/microphone connector for the built-in microphone.

61-95045 Non-amplified Conductor's Panel, "compact"
61-95046 Amplified Conductor's Panel with DTMF touch pad and handset connector (handset not included)

86-14001 Summing Amplifier

Hand held DTMFmicrophones are widely used on locomotives. Connecting two external DTMF microphones to some locomotive radios can result in low transmit levels. To remedy this situation, Larry McGee Company offers the Microphone Summing Amp. It is a “unity gain” amp, so that it does not change the microphone levels
